Top of the mornin’ to ya! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Get ready for a non-fitness related post:
Yesterday was Christi’s fabulous St. Patty’s Day Bridal Shower in Southie. We had a BLAST! Honestly, so much fun. The bride loved everything and we even got a couple tears out of her 😉
(Does my outfit look familiar?)
See what I mean? Could it be any more awesome?! Could my friends be any more gorgeous?! I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends. The 10 of us made it through grad school together, so I sorta feel like we can get through anything together! It’s such a magical thing to have friends that really understand what you do and why you do it.
Anyway, I posted the other day about my former fear of all day drinking/eating holidays likes St. Patty’s. While I had that in my brain yesterday, I ate green bagels and pizza, drank mimosas and “Irish Love Shots” (we were instructed NOT to call them “Irish Car Bombs”), and guess what?! This morning I woke up, and I was still a human. My body still does what it’s supposed to do (albeit a little sloth-like today), and I did not magically turn into a whale overnight. Amazing. It’s super fun events like this that remind me why recovery needed to happen. I was fully present yesterday (ok maybe a little buzzed…) and really enjoyed being with my friends and celebrating a fab bride!
And if I thought I was lucky this weekend, my bestie, Rachel, is coming to visit from Indiana next weekend! YAY! Luckiest.Girl.Ever. I mean it!
This week should be a bit quieter than last week, which is fine by me! I need some serious R+R. Tonight, Chris and I are going to try out a new TRX workout…if all goes as planned I will share it tomorrow.
