It’s Sunday afternoon and I am exhausted. This morning Chris and I headed downtown for some top secret Flex and Shout missions (and lunch!). I’m so excited that it’s finally feeling like spring time, because Boston in the spring is actually the best thing in the world!
A little cloudy, but whatevssss.
Yesterday at the gym I did what may have been the hardest workout in the history of workouts. Honestly…I almost barfed 3 times. And the whole workout was under 30 minutes. That’s a lot of barf. It came from JillFit, who is a super awesome trainer, coach, fitness personality. This workout was actually on her Instagram, which I highly recommend following. This workout was a plyometic, tabata workout…aka Vomit-City, USA. I modified some of the workouts because A. they were too hard for me and B. I was dying. If you’re feeling really brave, give it a try:
Super Barfy Plyo Tabata
Complete each Tabata for 8 total rounds, 20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest. Between each round, hop on the stair mill for 2 rounds of level 20 for 45 seconds, level 1 for 30 seconds (2.5 minutes total).
Tabata 1: Jump Squat
Tabata 2: Mountain Climbers
Tabata 3: Jump lunge
Tabata 4: Rowing machine
Plyometics are exercises based around having muscles exert maximum force in as short a time as possible, with the goal of increasing both speed and power. Usually they include lots of jumping, lateral movements and sweat (and barf if you’re lucky!).
Last night was my slumber party with two of my faves: Leah and Beth. It was just the kind of night I needed: wine, sushi, Facebook stalking and TONS of selfies:
We’re a gorgeous bunch 😉
That’s it for today! Stop by tomorrow for a new leg workout and a sick new workout outfit! #workoutswag.
