Hellooooo! Welcome back to Monday! Only 2 more weeks of school and then FREEEEEDOMMMM!!!
Did you have a good weekend? I did! Here’s my weekend roundup 🙂
Friday afternoon I rushed home from school to get a quick run in before my hair appointment. It had been raining all day, but cleared right as I got home. I made it about, oh I don’t know, 3 block, before the heavens opened and I ran the rest of my 40 minutes in the pouring rain.
It was VERY wet and squishy inside my sneakers 😦
Only 1 more week until the Foam 5k, so I gotta get my runs in! Even when the weather outside is weather.
Saturday morning I did these two Fitness Blender workouts:
I REALLY like Fitness Blender workouts. Sometimes it is so nice to let someone else do the thinking when it comes to writing workouts. I get tons of new crazy ideas from these two, plus I like that you can specify exactly what you are looking for in a workout while searching the site. That HIIT cardio workout is NO JOKE! Even the instructor has trouble getting through it. I was super smug thinking it was only 16 minutes and I could do it no problem…I definitely ate my words while huffing and puffing through it!
After my beatdown, Chris and I headed up to Portsmouth, NH for a little Saturday adventure. It was kinda cloudy, but there was a street fair going on with food, crafts and music! Such a fun little afternoon! Plus we had cocktails and lobster on the river…a good day all around!
Afterward, we headed to the mall and then to the movies. I got my very first pair of Ray Ban Aviators and we saw 22 Jumpstreet…seemed appropriate.
Yesterday, I headed to my parents house to spend Father’s Day with my dad (and mom!). We went for a brisk 4 mile walk around town, then had a BBQ with Chris’ fam. Such a great way to round out the weekend! I definitely ate tons of cake and have a lump in my tumtum today…but it’ll pass!
I like to share my weekends with all of you in hopes of everyone realizing that while I am super into fitness and health, I give myself space to be a human on the weekends just like everyone else. I haven’t been the gym since Thursday, but stayed super active all weekend and ate pretty much what I wanted. Today I am feeling a bit sluggish, but really no more than any other Monday. Weekends (especially when the weather is beautiful!) are super important. Relaxing, experiencing life, and having fun are even more important than working out. Believe me. When you’re old and gray, you’ll remember the great times you had with your friends and family, and likely not that hour you spent at the gym.
Get out there and do something fabulous!
